"Blue Promenade "
This acrylic painting was my entry in the 2007 Wyoming Conservation Stamp Competition and I am honored to say that it won an Award of Merit. It depicts a male Blue Grouse in the foreground displaying his beautiful plumage for two females scarcely visible in the background.

"Danseur Noble "
This diminutive painting is of a Tundra Swan and I chose to paint it in a dramatic pose and with dramatic lighting, as well. I feel these creatures are beautiful and graceful, and I was reminded of the ballet "Swan Lake" as I was working on this piece, so I selected to name the work based on the title given to the top male dancer in a ballet.

"Jewels in the Rafters"
We shot the reference photos for this painting while driving through the countryside this winter. We had been hoping to see moose, elk or deer, but instead spotted this beautiful peacock roosting in the rafters of an abandoned barn. Not in the least what we expected, but breath-taking none the less! Definitely, beauty in unexpected places!
