"Mother's Love" This painting was just recently finished and is one that I am really pleased with on many fronts.
The touching moment shared between this mare and foal is one understood and experienced between a mother and child of any type of animal - or human beings - and one I certainly had to capture in this painting. I hope the genuine love, nuturing and devotion I saw in this mother towards her child came through for my viewers' to share in this small pastel piece. I am offering signed, limited edition giclee prints of this piece for purchase as well. They are 12" x 9" offered at $50. To purchase a print please do so below-
"The Rookie "
This recent pastel is one I did of a very young Norwegian Fjord horse as he was "learning the ropes" between two of his elders. I loved, not only the looks on their faces, but the play of light across all of them on this beautiful September day.
"Elegance in Grey"
This pastel painting is of an extremely handsome Norwegian Fjord stallion I had the honor to meet recently. I had to paint him in pastel - hopefully capturing his elegance, noble air, and unmistakable good looks in this piece. "Elegance In Grey" has been selected for inclusion in "Strokes of Genius 2:The Best of Drawing Light and Shadow" to be published in October 2009. What an honor!
"Dances With Light "
This painting is a celebration of color, light, and life itself! This pastel is done of a marvelous Norwegian Fjord frolicing and kicking up his heels - as we all should once in awhile - just relaxing and enjoying his life. I feel happy every time I look at this piece. I hope you do, too! Fine Giclee, Limited Edition Prints of this image are available at www.americanfineartcompany.com.
"untitled -polo player"
This painting was created after I attended my first polo match last fall. What wonderful (and beautiful) athletes these horses are as they participate in this fast paced sport! This is only the first in a series of paintings (both pastel and acrylic) that I am doing from reference photos my husband shot for me at this event.
