Murals
"Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty." -- Albert Einstein
"African Mural " This mural was completed around the four walls of the guest bedroom and carried out throughout the accessories of the room. I even sculpted "pulls" for the ceiling fan that were an elephant head and body and rhinos adorned the tops of the drapery rods (once again sculpted by myself) to complete the "feel" of the room.
We found appropriate hardware for the closet doors and fitting stools, dressers, vases, rugs, etc. to really complete the look of the room.
"Fallen Birch "
This is an example of what can be done in a very small space. This mural is in an area between a slider door and another door into a room with only enough room for mirror hanging above. The home owner wanted a small mural in the area at the bottom of the wall as a focal point. We decided on a fallen birch tree in autumn leaves as the theme and this is the result. You don't need a large area to achieve a wonderful effect!
"Parisian Cafe"
These are two "thumbnails" of a breakfast nook type area my daughter and I turned into a Parisian Cafe for clients in the Washington D.C. area last year. They completed the look with an outdoor dining type table and chair set, and lovely wine bottle and cheese candle set. We even painted their cat into the scene complete with French titles throughout. What fun! Talk about atmosphere!
"Live the Dream!"
This mural was done in a small hallway where there was not enough room to accommodate the rustic stand and pottery that the homeowner wanted there, so I simply painted a similar one to fit her needs. The painting above the dresser is also part of the mural and really completes the desired image. The end result was wonderful and I am very pleased with this project.
