"Pagliacci"
This pastel painting is a portrait of a young paint horse, as well as a dramatic study of light. I was simply struck by his beautiful markings, color and the patterns of sunlight falling across his face. I wanted to focus on those things - leaving everything else in simplicity. This painting is exquisitely (and quite elegantly) framed to fit any decor!
I was honored that this painting recently won a Merit Award at the 2007 Carnegie Art Center Regional Show!
