"Bugle Boy "
I think that elk are magnificent animals and I wanted to paint them once again - this time in pastel. This work depicts a bull elk bugling with his "harem", or herd, in the background of the piece. I like the restful colors and the unusual cropping on the work.
I am proud to say that this piece was an award winner at the annual RRAFA juried show (2006) in Spokane, WA.

"Forest Recluse "
This large, extremely beautiful, and normally shy, woodpecker has been a visitor to the woods around our home this spring. I certainly had to paint this bird after my husband got a number of wonderful reference photos for me to work from!
This pastel piece is beautifully matted and framed, and under glass.
This painting was part of the Women Artists of the West Show at Hilligoss Galleries (on Michigan Ave.) in Chicago, IL. - Nov., 2007.
