Art Around Town
I absolutely love seeing art pop up in unexpected places around town. It is both exciting and inspiring to see what artists conceive of, create and ultimately share with others in their own town and beyond. Whether it is a commissioned painting on the side of a business, a sculpture placed at a government office or city event center or pieces created and placed on streets to raise funds for a charity, all are great additions to the community they are placed in. No matter what the original intent one thing is certain, public art is accessible to many people who may never have the opportunity to visit a gallery or museum.
Through the years I have been honored to participate in several public art projects. I would like to share a few of these works with you. I am pleased to say that many are still displayed even though in some cases more than a decade has passed.
