This green-winged dove seemed so tenacious as it sat amongst bare branches and the few leaves still clinging to them. I thought to myself, "This bird has such perseverance!" Hence the name of the piece. It also reminded me of a quote by Junot Diaz - "God bless perseverance, because it's not easy."
