Here is “Texas Troubadour”, the latest in my recent series of western-themed pieces. In this painting I wanted to portray another humble man that is happy with the simplicity of his life. As I worked on this, I heard the lyrics of “This Old Guitar” (John Denver) playing in my mind because I think they fit so perfectly with the message I was trying to convey.
“This old guitar taught me to sing a love song
Showed me how to laugh and how to cry
It introduced me to some friends of mine and brightened up some days
And helped me make it through some lonely nights, . . .”
