". . . a brush with nature"

This mixed media/scratchboard piece (Larger than Life) was, of course, inspired by the many beautiful hummingbirds that visit my studio and home every summer. These tiny creatures are fascinating, truly amazing to say the least, with their flying prowess and ability to survive all the harshness that nature sometimes chooses to dish out. Yet, still they are joyful in spirit . . . and spread that joy to others with every beat of their tiny wings.

"Long Forgotten"  pastel

When I painted this piece, my inspiration was a long-forgotten pull toy sitting alone and abandoned in the corner. The tiny blue elephant, once cherished and loved by a curly haired toddler, now sat collecting dust. The child, who once treasured the toy, outgrew it quickly in the rush towards growing up.

Too so, I fear, this child will discover what we all eventually come to know . . . savor the moment you're in . . . life passes each of us by too quickly.

Of why growing up quick was needed so."
